Amber Heard Announces Birth of Twins, Says Her Family Is Now Complete
Amber Heard took to social media this Mother’s Day to share joyful news — she has welcomed twins. The 39-year-old actress revealed that she is now the proud mother of three children, a journey she described as humbling, challenging, and deeply joyful
“Mother’s Day 2025 will forever hold a special place in my heart,” she wrote to her 5.5 million followers. “This year, I’m overwhelmed with happiness as I celebrate the family I’ve dreamed of creating for years. I’m thrilled to officially announce the arrival of twins to the Heard gang.”
She introduced her newborns by name, saying: “My daughter Agnes and my son Ocean are keeping both my hands and my heart wonderfully full.”
Reflecting on motherhood, Amber recalled the birth of her first daughter, Oonagh, four years ago. “When I welcomed my baby girl Oonagh, my life changed in ways I never imagined. I didn’t think I could feel more joy — but now, I’m bursting with it times three!”
Known for being candid about her solo path to parenthood, Amber once again highlighted her choice to become a mother independently. “Choosing motherhood on my own terms, despite fertility challenges, has been the most humbling and rewarding experience of my life,” she shared. “I’m beyond grateful to have made this decision responsibly and with deep intention.”
She extended love to other mothers in her heartfelt message: “To all the moms out there — wherever you are and however you got here — my dream family and I are celebrating with you today. Love always, A x.”
A spokesperson confirmed the happy news to PEOPLE, saying: “Amber is thrilled to welcome the twins and feels her family is now complete. She and the babies are doing wonderfully, and big sister Oonagh is happily taking charge.
Amber’s first daughter, Oonagh Paige, was born via surrogate on April 8, 2021, and named in honor of Heard’s late mother, Paige, who passed away in 2020. At the time, Amber opened up about her decision to become a mother alone, sharing on Instagram: “I wanted to have a child — on my own terms. I now recognize how powerful it is for women to approach this aspect of life independently. Hopefully, we’re moving toward a time where a woman doesn’t need a ring to have a crib.”
While she has generally guarded her private life, Amber acknowledged the unique challenges of maintaining privacy in the public eye. “Part of me wants to keep my personal life completely private,” she noted. “But I also understand that my profession means I sometimes need to speak for myself.”
Since her widely publicized legal battles with ex-husband Johnny Depp concluded in 2022, Amber relocated to Madrid, Spain, seeking a fresh start. She’s since maintained a low profile, occasionally sharing personal moments with her daughter and offering glimpses into her life as a full-time mom.
During her 2022 trial, Amber briefly referenced her role as a mother, stating: “I want to move forward with my life. I have a baby. I need to move on — and I hope Johnny does too.”
Now, with the arrival of Agnes and Ocean, Amber says her long-held dream of building a complete family has finally come true.
