Tech Company Astronomer Responds After CEO Andy Byron Filmed Embracing Co-Worker at Coldplay Concert

Tech company Astronomer has issued an official response after CEO Andy Byron was caught on camera in an awkward moment with co-worker and HR chief Kristin Cabot during a recent Coldplay concert in Massachusetts.

The incident occurred during the band’s “kiss cam” segment, where Byron was seen standing behind Cabot with his arms wrapped around her waist. When Coldplay frontman Chris Martin pointed out the pair, saying, “Oh, look at these two,” Cabot appeared visibly startled and covered her face, while Byron quickly ducked out of view. Martin jokingly added, “Alright, come on — you’re okay. Okay, what? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”

The video quickly went viral, sparking speculation, especially after it was discovered that both Byron and Cabot are married to other people. Despite the rumors, the true nature of their relationship remains unclear.

Shortly after the footage spread online, a statement claiming to be an apology from Byron began circulating. The message even included a Coldplay lyric at the end. However, Astronomer has confirmed the statement is fake.
The fake statement can be seen below:

The company took to LinkedIn to clarify the situation, writing:
“Andy Byron has not put out any statement. Reports saying otherwise are all incorrect.”

Taylor Jones, Director of Communications at Astronomer, further confirmed to Men’s Journal that:
“Neither statement is real. These were not authored or approved by Andy or anyone at Astronomer.”

Astronomer added in their official statement:
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”

The company’s Board of Directors has launched a formal investigation into the matter and promised to share more details soon.

In the meantime, Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy has taken over as interim CEO, as Andy Byron has been placed on leave pending the investigation.

As of now, neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly addressed the incident.
